About Me & My Philosophy
My name is Orit and I am an Occupational Therapist with 20 years experience. I graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Along the years I continued to develop my knowledge through various courses including a four month Sensory Integration training offered by the University of Southern California, USA a facilitator training for the EarlyBird parents' course and Infant Sensory Integration training with Megan Faure the co-author of many books including the "Baby Sense" book.
For 12 years, I was part of the NHS Islington Social Communication Team, assessing and supporting children with autism and their families. As part of this team, I have worked closely with clinical psychologists, family therapists, paediatricians and speech therapists, gaining a greater understanding of children development. This invaluable experience enables me to offer a holistic approach in my own practice.
I continue to use the Sensory Integration approach in my work, as well as running workshops for parents, carers and nurseries and supporting children at home and in nursery/school.
In September 2019 I opened my independent practice. It's named PlayWay because I believe that therapy for young children has to be through play, which is children's – and many adults' – most loved occupation. It is through playfulness that I strive to help your child achieve their goals.
